goatboyeParticipantHey everyone,
I’m a professional musician with over 30 years of experience with acts such as Blue Man Group and Cirque Du Soleil. I recently came across the Quantum Ocean via a post on the SOMA Facebook page, and was immediately intrigued – especially by the phrase “electro-shamanistic.”
After doing some further research – especially discovering Itzhak Bentov’s work and the CIA’s declassified paper on The Gateway Experience – I knew this was something I wanted to explore deeply.
Sound has long been my portal into altered states, particularly through drumming, though not limited to it. I’ve also spent the last decade experimenting with isolation tanks, and I have to say: after using the Quantum Ocean for several 30+ minute sessions, it often brings me into a very similar state – but in a far more accessible way.
I’ve had the Quantum Ocean for just over three weeks now and documented my first 10 sessions in what I call a Noise Journal. So far, I’m convinced: the QO is a powerful tool for inner journeys. It seems to stabilize the inner field – providing a surprising sense of grounding, even when the visions and sensations become quite intense.
Over the coming days/weeks, I plan to post those 10 entries here – mainly to share my experiences for others who might be considering the Quantum Ocean, or who are already on a similar path. I originally recorded my thoughts in bullet-point form, and for legibility (and to make this whole process easier for me), I’ve used ChatGPT to help rephrase some of the entries into more readable prose.
Looking forward to exchanging ideas and learning from others here.
goatboyeParticipantNoise Journal 01 – First Dive
Session Duration: ~30 minutes
Setting: Bedroom, seated in upright meditation pose, Mindfold on
State before session: Excited, eager, curious
Note: This was my first-ever session—I’d literally just received the Quantum Ocean in the post.—
Within about five minutes of turning it on, I noticed a subtle but definite shift in awareness. It wasn’t dramatic—more like an inner alignment. A quiet tuning. I felt more in phase with myself, as if some background interference had cleared.
Around 15 to 20 minutes in, visual phenomena began to emerge behind closed eyes. I saw slow-moving, pink and purplish fluid shapes—hovering and undulating across an inner field. At one point, I perceived what I’ve come to call “The Point”—a kind of singular luminous dot I’ve encountered during deep meditation before. I associate it with something Paramahansa Yogananda described in his Bhagavad Gita commentaries, and to me it feels like a direct link to Source, or God.
As the session unfolded, I felt a natural pull to shift my attention between what I might call “frequency bands”—not musical frequencies per se, but perceptual layers or tonal fields. Toward the end, I began to gently “hop” between them—not zooming into any particular state, but observing from a higher altitude, with a sense of lightness and curiosity.

After-effects:
Later that day, while driving my kids to Judo and again while walking our dog in the evening, I noticed something subtle but clear: my awareness felt expanded. There was a soft spaciousness to my attention, a sense of stillness in motion. It lingered well after the session ended.—
This first session felt like an initiation—a gentle handshake with the Field.
Looking forward to sharing more soon.
goatboyeParticipantNoise Journal 02 – Subtle Calibration
Session Duration: ~40 minutes
Date: October 8, 2025
Setting: Studio, lights dimmed, iMac powered down
Body Position: Alternating between reclining (¾ lying down) and sitting upright
Extras: Mindfold, small dose of cannabis within the prior hour
State before session: Slightly tired but eager to begin—
As with my first session, I noticed a light sense of anxiety in the opening minutes—a kind of internal fluttering, like my system was recalibrating to the noise field. This seems to be part of the transition phase for me.
Early on, I began to feel a strange sensation centered in the area of the third eye. It wasn’t uncomfortable—more like something was being aligned or adjusted. As the session deepened, this intensified into a kind of pressure in my head, especially toward the end. That’s when I felt it was time to stop.
Throughout the session, I experienced a cycling between blocked sensation and moments of crystalline mental clarity—like oscillations moving through my awareness. At times I could hear very high-pitched, irregular buzzing sounds. Occasionally, there were fleeting impressions of rhythm—subtle but discernible—rising out of the raw noise.
There was a moment, somewhere deeper into the session, when it felt like I began to perceive behind the veil of my own mind-body system. Not in a psychedelic sense—more like a faint but noticeable awareness of internal processes I don’t usually register. Still very subtle, but it gave me the sense that this kind of perception could sharpen over time with regular practice.
Toward the end, the session began to feel like a kind of inner psychic cleanse—almost like a mental-emotional shower. Not euphoric, but undeniably clearing. Then something strange occurred: I noticed a voice in my inner monologue that didn’t feel like mine. It wasn’t disturbing, just… different. The tone, cadence, presence of it felt foreign. Only when it stopped did I realize it had taken up space in my mind without me noticing—almost like another energy had momentarily slipped in.

After-effects:
Later, I noticed my perception of three-dimensional space had become more refined. Movement felt slightly more fluid. Visual depth—particularly in low light—seemed subtly enhanced.—
This session felt less visually rich than the first, but more cognitively penetrating. A quieter kind of intensity. Like being tuned from the inside out.
goatboyeParticipantNoise Journal 03 – Surface Tension
Session Duration: ~20 minutes
Setting: Studio, seated upright
State before session: Slightly anxious and uneasy—aware I’d need to pick up my daughter shortly, and conscious that my other daughter was alone upstairs while workers were still in the attic above.—
This session didn’t drop as deep as the first two. From the beginning, I could feel a kind of background tension running through me—subtle but steady. There was an internal clock ticking (knowing I had to leave soon), and a diffuse sense of alertness due to the activity happening in the house. Because of this, I found it hard to let go.
The session felt more like a conventional meditation—still and useful, but not as immersive or expansive. I didn’t reach the same kind of altered perceptual states or visionary spaces as before. Still, it was valuable in its own way. I was able to observe how much the external environment—and internal sense of safety—affects my capacity to sink into the QO field.
Even in this more “surface-level” session, I could sense the broad spectrum of possibilities latent in the signal. Like skimming across the top of an ocean I know has depth, even if I didn’t dive in this time.
—
After-effects:
No notable after-effects, but a mild sense of calm and clarity lingered for the rest of the afternoon.—
Sometimes the value of the practice lies in simply showing up. This session reminded me that not every dive needs to go deep—and that context matters more than I tend to admit.
goatboyeParticipantNoise Journal 04 – Mind Noise vs. White Noise
Session Duration: ~50 minutes
Date: October 9, 2025
Setting: Bedroom, began seated in upright meditation pose and later shifted to a semi-reclined position (¾ lying down)
Extras: Mindfold, light cannabis intake beforehand
State before session: Tired, but deeply relaxed—
The first few minutes of this session brought a surprising realization: my inner mental noise was so loud that I could barely perceive the Quantum Ocean through the headphones. It struck me how completely the mind can drown out even something as persistent and textured as white noise. I was wearing headphones, sound was playing—but my thoughts were louder.
As I settled in and my mind began to still, the signal of the Quantum Ocean began to emerge. The noise, once hidden, became full—lush even. It took on a kind of unexpected beauty.
At times, I drifted toward the edge of dream states. I distinctly recall the sudden, vivid appearance of a head forming behind my closed eyes—strangely detailed and arising spontaneously, like a dream just about to form.
There were also pinkish fluid shapes, slowly morphing across the internal visual field. I noticed my eyes moving involuntarily in odd directions within their sockets—a phenomenon I’ve felt before during meditation. It gives the sensation of inner calibration, like something being subtly adjusted.
I saw The Point again—the small, radiant center I’ve come to associate with deep meditative states. But this time, it seemed to spin, subtly shifting directions and glowing with muted multicolored light. It felt psychedelic—like something sacred just at the edge of full revelation.
At one point, I witnessed multiple dim circular lights drifting around in what looked like a cluster. They moved gently in the blackness, reminding me of UFOs in a night sky—not threatening, just strangely alive and foreign.
Time dilation was pronounced. Though the session ran nearly 50 minutes, it felt closer to 30.
—
After-effects:
I stayed still for about five minutes afterward, just breathing in silence. There was a noticeable shift in my body—I felt spacious, as if there was more room between every cell. Light. Almost transparent.—
This was one of the more immersive sessions so far. It reminded me how much inner noise we carry by default—and how, with patience, something far more coherent begins to emerge.
