TLDR – If you are using the metaconformer with a sequencer, I’d like to know how you are using it and/or how well it pairs with your setup.

Hi everybody! The Metaconformer caught my attention when I read about the Simplexfm firmware upgrade. The demos sound incredible.

I am considering getting a metaconformer to experiment with my setup. I have been watching the demo videos and reading the manual a bit, and it seems like it could be very useful!

Practically speaking, I wonder how much of its functionality I would be able to use since I am mostly sequencing with a Polyend Tracker. It seems very much designed to be coupled with a keyboard. I also play keys with my setup, but I’m trying to imagine how this would work with a sequencer. How practical of an implementation would this be?

      Considering each of its modes:

Combiner – Sending midi out from the tracker, I could use the combiner mode to control multiple synths simultaneously, but I can do this anyway using basic midi through, so this mode doesn’t seem especially helpful to me. (Or am I missing something concerning the combiner mode)?
Splitter – This mode, designed essentially for a keyboard to split the keybed to control different instruments, is an interesting feature, and I suppose I could use the tracker’s pads to input the note range, right? I think it could be a very interesting feature to be able to use the Cel Buttons to mute certain key ranges during sequence performance. That could allow for some strange and unexpected variations. That prospect is interesting – if it works!
Translator – This actually seems like a great feature to use with a Tracker. (Is this basically a key-tracking feature?) Modifying CCs via note selection would give more possibilities for sound design with the tracker. Because the tracker only allows for 2 effects to be implemented per step, and the tracker CC control is implemented through its effect slots, this could effectively add another layer of control per step, which would be an impressive upgrade to a Tracker setup.
SIMPLEXFM – This feature speaks for itself and would be a lot of fun to implement as an additional synth.

I’m genuinely interested. Has anyone ever tried using Metaconformer with a sequencer? What was it like?
