I’ve seen a few videos of people showing off Ornament techniques, but there needs to be something written about the logic of using the cells, and arranging them to create stochastic outcomes.

I would find it much easier to understand on paper (with illustrations) than in trying to follow a video of someone in a dark studio 🙂 partly that’s to do with my autism, which makes it hard to follow video sometimes.

      does anything like that exist?

      cheers….

The Ornament manual goes in-depth and has several visual examples of patches:

A good way to experiment is, after you’ve created a loop of 8 cells by connecting the Trig out to the next Trig in, and so on, until you’ve connected all 8 cells and they run around, to connect the CV out of one cell to the CV in of another. Then connect another CV out to another CV in of another cell, and so on.

It’s a good idea to first have a structure of a normal loop before you introduce more chaotic or random elements, but it’s not required of course. You can connect any trig out to any trig in, any cv out to any cv in, and also make the loop shorter than 8 cells. Also experiment with different knob settings.
