My disclaimer – i am weak with some of the terminology and concepts of the electronics side of things. Not so much that i haven’t had a grand time with modular synths, other synths, and soma instruments. So, not a beginner, but very weak on some of the technical stuff.

I’m wondering if i have the utilities set up correctly. I have an alligator cable connected between the ground posts on the utilities and the pulsar. I hadn’t realized that this came without a cpu, but it looks like the ones i use for ciat lonbarde are correct. 12v dc, center positive. I’ve tried 2, and when i plug in the utilities module the light below the connection lights up. i’m going to have to do some reading to make sure i’m understanding the individual modules, so I figured the 8 sensors for body patching would be the easiest, and potentially the most fun. But i get absolutely zero result. fingers dry, fingers wet, pressing lightly, using more surface, etc. I can’t get anything to happen. I understand the pulsar well enough to get very fun results with it, and am familiar with fun places to bring in cv modulation, etc.

I imagine that since i am getting no results at all that i must be omitting something very silly. but i’m not sure what to look for. what else do i need to do, other than the above main connections, and then alligator cables between the posts next to the sensors, and a modulation input on the pulsar?

in any case – hello. this is my first post here, and i’m afraid it might be kind of dumb. but that’s ok. thanks.

          Hi,

The 8 pads on the utilities are not like the trigger pads on the pulsar, they do not generate any signal on their own, they are just pads you can use to route signal through skin. You need to patch a CV or Audio Source to one pin and the destination to another pin, then you can connect the two by pressing your fingers on the pads. This way you can route a CV source to various destinations or route various CV sources to a single destination.

Let me know if you have any questions.
