Hi guys I try to sequence Pulsar 23 with Roland TR8-S.
I noticed tune knob on BD and SD channel are not working between 7 o’clock and 12 o’clock. Between 12 o’clock and 5 o’clock, tweaking the knobs give a very slight change. Also pitch knob is not working on BD channel. It doesn’t matter what note I send, same result for C2, B4 and C5 for example.
Is this normal behavior?
Hi, Yo-Yo
It’s strange if they don’t react to the parameter change. Am I right in understanding that you change the parameter on the Pulsar-23 itself? BD Tune knob – adjusts the pitch of the BD audio module, SD Tune knob – controls the spectrum of the noise generator for the SD module. In fact, the behavior of these parameters will also depend on other parameters, so it would be good to understand how other parameters of these sounds and cable patching are configured.
Hi Don Buchla,
Yes I’m trying to change the parameters directly on Pulsar. There is no patch cable on the Pulsar. Just Tr8-S midi sequencing.
As Mr Buchla correctly indicates, behavior of these parameters will also depend on other parameters. With certain knob settings changes to the sound are much more pronounced, while with other knob setting combinations there can be very little impact on the sound. This is the same on all Pulsars.
If you can record a video where we can clearly see all knob settings and you show what you are doing, along with clear sound quality, and send it to our tech support at [email protected], one of our engineers can compare your settings to one of our Pulsars, and let you know whether the behavior is normal or not.
