REVIEWS / ORNAMENT-8

Patrick Loréa

Soma machines are more than machines and more than instruments: they (re)act like humans and like a micro society; in a very unpredictable but fascinating way. Often surprising, sometimes pleasing, sometimes upsetting, (quite) never bothering. Their learning curves are as life’s learning curve: infinite, and it’s quite impossible but challenging to “master”. More than one year with the Lyra-8, some months with the Pulsar-23 and some weeks with Ornament-8, and yet so many behaviors to understand and discover. The four of us feel like a family: never-ending conversations, some conflicts and a lot of love… An experimental journey.
